Carson Macedo Wins World of Outlaws Feature at Texarkana 67 Speedway
Carson Macedo took the lead late to win a 41-lap feature at Texarkana 67 Speedway, ahead of David Gravel and Sheldon Haudenschild.

Carson Macedo turned a late restart into a win at Texarkana 67 Speedway, taking the lead from David Gravel with two laps remaining in Friday’s 41-lap World of Outlaws feature. Gravel finished second and Sheldon Haudenschild third on the opening night of the Jason Johnson Classic in Texarkana, Arkansas.
The feature paid $20,000 to the winner. The following night’s Short Track Nationals finale was scheduled to pay $25,000. Macedo started sixth, while Cole Macedo and Haudenschild occupied the front row. The race’s many interruptions and late changes at the front made the starting order only a partial guide to the finish.
A late move decided the feature
Cole Macedo took the lead at the start, with Logan Schuchart moving into second after a lap-two incident involving Buddy Kofoid and Haudenschild brought out the first caution. Brenham Crouch’s slowdown prompted another stoppage on lap eight. Once the field settled back into a rhythm, Schuchart closed on the leader, with Gravel joining the fight as the front runners reached traffic.
Schuchart made a deep run to the inside on lap 24 but couldn’t get clear. Three laps later, he completed a slide job to take the lead, while Cole Macedo and Gravel battled for second. Kofoid, who had spun early, climbed back through the field and reached fourth by lap 30. Donny Schatz’s spin on lap 31 brought out another caution.
The restart reshuffled the lead again: Carson Macedo slid past Schuchart, but a tangle behind the leaders stopped the race. Kofoid stayed on track despite his crew working on a damaged right-rear tire. Schuchart then regained the lead on the next restart, with Gravel and Carson Macedo close behind.
On lap 36, a car spun ahead of Schuchart. As the leader tried to thread through the gap near the outside wall, his car climbed the wall and landed upside down, bringing out an open red flag. Gravel inherited the lead for the restart. Carson Macedo briefly passed him on lap 38, but Gravel crossed underneath and reclaimed the position. On lap 39, Macedo carried speed along the cushion through turn three, reached Gravel’s right-rear and took the lead coming out of turn four. He held it to the finish.
Feature results
The top five were Carson Macedo, Gravel, Haudenschild, Cole Macedo and Kofoid. Brent Marks finished sixth, followed by Emerson Axsom, Ashton Torgerson, Chris Windom and Brady Bacon. Tyler Courtney was 11th, Schatz 12th, Garet Williamson 13th and Spencer Bayston 14th. Bill Balog finished 15th, Blake Hahn 16th, Schuchart 17th, Skylar Gee 18th, Landon Crawley 19th and Bryce Lucius 20th.
Howard Moore, Joe B Miller, Rees Moran and Crouch were listed as non-finishers in positions 21 through 24. Schuchart’s 17th-place result came after he had led during the middle portion of the race; the lap-36 incident ended his shot at the win.
Qualifying and preliminary races
David Gravel set the quickest listed practice time, 12.894 seconds. In qualifying, he topped Flight A at 12.429 seconds, with Courtney second at 12.457. Kofoid led Flight B in 12.456, narrowly ahead of Brady Bacon at 12.490. Haudenschild qualified third in that flight, with Schuchart fourth.
Gravel won Heat 1, ahead of Cole Macedo and Schatz. Courtney took Heat 2, with Carson Macedo second. Kofoid won Heat 3 in front of Haudenschild, and Schuchart led Heat 4, followed by Axsom and Marks. Lucius won the 12-lap last-chance race; Hahn and Moore also transferred among its first three finishers.
Haudenschild won the eight-lap Dash from the front, with Cole Macedo second, Kofoid third and Gravel fourth. That result put Haudenschild on the feature’s front row, but the changing lead and late restart ultimately favored Macedo’s run from sixth.

Friday’s result leaves the clearest takeaway for the next night: Macedo showed he could make progress from outside the front row, while Gravel and Haudenschild remained among the leading contenders. The Saturday finale carried the larger listed winner’s prize, $25,000.
