Tesla App 4.62 Adds Larger iPad Views, Wall Connector Sharing and More
Tesla app 4.62 prepares wider tablet support, FSD referral rewards, X Money payments, Supercharger queues and shared Wall Connector access.

Tesla app version 4.62 points to a broader shift in how owners manage vehicles, home charging and payments from one place. Its clearest visible change is support for larger screens, while code and interface text suggest several features still being prepared: Full Self-Driving (Supervised) referral rewards, X Money payments, changes to virtual queues and sharing access to a Wall Connector.
A more useful view on iPad and foldable phones
The update adds support for tablets and foldable phones, including iPad and iPhone Duo. On many screens, the app expands across the available display instead of presenting a phone-sized interface in the middle. That gives vehicle controls and information more room, though the source says some panels have yet to make full use of larger screens.
The vehicle visualization gets the most substantial redesign. It now includes an ambient background and reflections, with controls for the frunk, trunk, charge port and door locks placed directly on the vehicle image. Those controls had previously appeared in Quick Actions. The Show PSI option also moves beneath the visualization, out of the Controls section.
Climate, Location, Self Driving, Summon and Charging are among the other panels that benefit from the expanded layout. For owners using an iPad at home, the wider view could make common status checks and adjustments easier to scan. The update’s vehicle list covers Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck.

Referral rewards are taking shape in the app
Version 4.62 contains text and graphics tied to a possible FSD referral program, but the material describes a feature in preparation rather than a confirmed launch. The proposed reward is a free month or months of FSD for a vehicle on the referring customer’s account when someone subscribes through their link.
The interface language suggests the customer would choose which vehicle receives the trial. Prompts found in the app include “Select the vehicle you'd like to apply the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) trial to,” “If someone subscribes with your link, pick which vehicle gets the reward,” and “Confirm Vehicle for Reward.” Tesla has also added front and back images of a referral “coin,” which may appear in the app as part of the process.
That vehicle selection could matter to households with more than one Tesla: the suggested flow appears to let the owner direct a reward to a particular car rather than apply it automatically across the account. The update does not specify the referral terms, how many months a successful referral would earn, or when customers could use the feature.

X Money could cover several Tesla payments
The app also contains signs that X Money may become a payment option for Tesla customers. The described uses include purchases from the Tesla Shop, Supercharging and FSD subscriptions. If introduced, that would bring several kinds of spending into the same payment setup, from occasional merchandise purchases to recurring software subscriptions and charging sessions.
The update provides no launch timing or further details about setup, availability or payment conditions. For drivers, the practical value will depend on where the option is offered and how it fits alongside existing payment methods. For now, the evidence in version 4.62 indicates planned support, not a feature customers can already rely on.

Virtual queue changes remain small
There are also minor adjustments to Tesla’s virtual queue feature. The source characterizes them as small tweaks that may reflect final work before a wider launch. Testing is currently taking place at five locations in the U.S.; the update does not name those sites or describe what has changed for drivers in the queue.
For Supercharger users, a virtual queue is intended to manage demand when charging stalls are busy. The scale of this update offers little detail about how drivers will join or track a queue, so the immediate takeaway is simply that Tesla is continuing to refine the feature while testing remains limited.

Wall Connector sharing adds a narrower access option
Owners can already share access to vehicles and Tesla Energy features with other Tesla users. Version 4.62 points to a more specific option: sharing a Wall Connector without opening access to an entire Tesla Energy site, which can include a home address and controls for Powerwall or solar equipment.
The app text says a person who joins can charge using the shared Wall Connector and manage its charging settings, and can leave at any time. The owner can view charging activity associated with that person, including charge history. The feature is described as supporting up to five additional users.
That narrower permission could suit households or shared properties where someone needs access to a charger but shouldn't need access to home energy controls. The source labels the feature as upcoming, so owners will need to wait for availability before relying on it. Across 4.62, the tablet redesign is the most apparent change today; the payment, referral and sharing features are signs of what Tesla may add next.
